How To Connect To Your New Tarot Deck
As with all relationships, connection is essential. In this blog post, I will tell you how to connect to your new tarot deck and strengthen connectivity.
I believe every tarot deck has its unique energy. What one deck tells you may not be the same message another deck is showing you; hence, building a connection is essential so you don’t misinterpret the messages.
After you have cleansed the deck, you will want to start connecting with your Tarot deck; after all, they are our friends assisting us in our journey. Here I show you three easy ways to connect with your new tarot deck and have your energies in perfect synergy.
Connect To Your New Tarot Deck Visually
Tarot decks are illustrated with art resembling that of the Raider Waite or with whimsical or captivating, magical art. All are beautiful, and that’s why I have so many decks, lol, but seriously, no two decks are alike…that I know of.
Take your time looking through each card in the deck. Connect with every card. Each card will give you a message. I have noticed that when I do this and then do a tarot reading, something shows up that I had not seen before. This lets me know that it is part of the message I’m receiving.
What impression is the card giving you? What do you think is the card's energy? Are they looking forward or back? Is it a yes, no, happy, or sad card? Investigate and connect with visuals.
Each tarot deck has its own style, preoccupations, concerns, attitudes, and perspectives.
Carry Them Around & Sleep With Them
I remember carrying my deck around and bringing them out any chance I got to shuffle. I slept with them too. Many of us do this so the deck can grab our energetic imprint.
A deck will let you know when they are ready by the way they shuffle. Your shuffling style also blends into this practice, but the more manageable the shuffle, the better.
Sleeping with a deck allows messages to come through in the dream state about how a deck would like to get shuffled and treated and even which card spread to perform. You may dream of yourself managing the deck or setting up for a reading in a particular way. This, many times, is the deck speaking to you in the dream realm.
Connect Through an Interview Spread
Grab pen and paper, your deck, and create your spread. What would you like to know from the deck? How would you like the deck to help you? What is the deck going to teach/show you?
A two-card spread is asking where this deck is meeting me and what this deck is going to teach me. The possibilities are endless, and you can mix and match how you interact with each tarot deck you have.
Summary
The ways to connect with your deck are endless. I have provided three easy ways for you to build that connection. Could you find which works for you and make it your own?
I hope you enjoy getting to know your deck. Let me know how it goes!
